WPC Asia Grand Slam: Malaysia 2025
The World Pickleball Championship (WPC) Series made its historic debut in Malaysia in 2025, marking a landmark moment for pickleball across Southeast Asia. Held at The Pickle Grounds — a world-class rooftop venue atop One World Hotel in Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur — the WPC Asia Grand Slam: Malaysia 2025 ran from 16 to 20 July 2025.
This inaugural event drew over 1,500 players from more than 20 countries, competing for a total prize pool of RM120,000 (approximately USD 27,000). It became the largest pickleball tournament ever staged in Asia at the time of its hosting.

About the WPC Series
Founded in 2019, the World Pickleball Championship Series is the largest and longest-running international pickleball circuit. By 2025, it had grown to encompass over 80 tournaments across more than 15 countries on four continents, with over 60,000 registered players worldwide. The WPC is fully integrated with Pickleball Global, the world’s leading digital platform for tournament management and global player rankings.
National Support & Tourism Impact
The WPC Asia Grand Slam: Malaysia 2025 was officially endorsed by the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, directly supporting the country’s “Visit Malaysia 2026” campaign. The event was projected to generate approximately MYR 13 million in tourism economic impact. Title sponsorship was provided by CelcomDigi, with additional support from Astro Arena, Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Joola, Franklin, and Facolos.
Featured Athletes
International stars competing included Vanshik Kapadia (India), the reigning WPC Asia Treble Champion, Anna Clarice Patrimonio (Philippines), the defending Women’s Singles champion, and Nguyễn Anh Thắng (Vietnam). Malaysia’s own Colin Wong, Razlan Rawi, and Sharneem “Neem” Reyes also competed on the home stage, drawing enormous local support.
